MT. VERNON – A man is dead following a report of a domestic disturbance with shots fire at a home located at 12339 E. Oakton Rd. in Mt. Vernon Friday afternoon according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and detectives arrived at the scene around 1:20 p.m. They found the caller and primary resident, 61-year-old Leslie D. Borah. Thirty-three-year-old Adam M. Borah was found unresponsive following a search of the home and property. Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse declared him dead at the scene.

Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations was requested and responded to process the scene. Leslie Borah was transported to the sheriff’s office. He was arrested and charged for unlawful concealing of a death. He was released from custody with a mandatory court appearance.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate. Adam Borah’s autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
