MT. VERNON – Two separate crashes happened close to each other on I-64 north of Mt. Vernon Monday night.
According to Illinois State Police, around 9:18 p.m. a semi with trailer struck a concrete median barrier and rolled over into the median on westbound I-64 at milepost 71. The barrier was dislodged and pushed into the eastbound lanes. Another vehicle going east on I-64 at milepost 73 struck the concrete barrier.
The semi driver was not hurt. The vehicle’s driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
