CARMI – A homeless Carmi man wanted on a White County warrant for two counts of Unlawful Presence within a school zone by a sex offender/Unlawful Communication with a Child by a Sex Offender on Snapchat was recently taken into custody by the White County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office was notified Wednesday by the White County Probation Office that William S. Franks was at the facility and knew he was wanted.
A sergeant with the sheriff’s office spoke to Franks and asked for his identification. Franks complied and his information was run through dispatch. His information came back showing he was wanted on the warrant. Franks was taken into custody without incident.
