Repeat Offender Arrested for Burglarizing Vehicles at Walker’s Bluff Casino

CARTERVILLE – A woman is lodged in the Williamson County Jail cited for four counts of Burglary, along with Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the parking lot of Walker’s Bluff Casino for a report of a female burglarizing vehicles early Monday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies discovered that Illinois Gaming Board Agents were alerted to the burglary of vehicles in the parking lot by an employee.

Gaming Board Agents were able to review security cameras and subsequently locate and detain the suspect identified as Kelcie M. Beers. Beers is currently out of prison on parole.

She allegedly burglarized four vehicles. Deputies recovered items from Beers’ vehicle that she took in the burglaries. Gaming Agents also recovered stolen property discarded inside the casino. Security cameras show Beers entering the vehicles in the parking lot.

The owners of the stolen items were later identified and their belongings returned.

Upon learning that she was under arrest, Beers stated that she had ingested several illegal narcotics to include Heroin, Xanax and Methamphetamine and requested transport to the hospital. Beers was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Law enforcement remained on scene at the hospital until Beers was medically cleared and released a few hours later.

Sheriff’s Investigators believe Beers fabricated her need for medical attention in an attempt to avoid jail.

A court order releasing medical records from the hospital is being sought. Upon receipt of toxicology records an additional charge for Obstructing Justice is anticipated.

This is the third time in the past two weeks Beers has been arrested. The Illinois Department of Corrections has issued a warrant for her arrest; a common precursor to revoking an offenders parole status.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Illinois Gaming Board and Walker’s Bluff Casino Security for their assistance and dedication to the safety and security of that facility.
