MURPHYSBORO – Murphysboro firefighters were called out to a structure fire at the Cope Alternative School on Shomaker Drive around 5:45 Tuesday morning.
When fire crews arrived, they found the south end of the building on fire. It was quickly contained, however, substantial damage to the structure did occur.
No one was in the building at the time of fire which is under investigation.
