SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Dale Fowler took part in a bipartisan Capitol press conference Wednesday to call attention to the scourge of human trafficking.
Sen. Fowler is a chief cosponsor of Senate Bill 2323, which seeks to implement recommendations made by the Joint Human Trafficking Working Group, which was formed by the Legislature in 2023.
Among the recommendations, the Working Group recommended a multi-agency approach to combating human trafficking to include the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Illinois State Police, and the state Departments of Human Services and Corrections.
Senate Bill 2323 was introduced by Democrat State Senator Julie Morrison of Deerfield,
The legislation was approved by the Senate Criminal Law Committee Wednesday. It now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
