Carmi Traffic Stop Leads to Woman’s Arrest for Cannabis, Possessing Weapon

CARMI – An Evansville, IN, woman has been charged after a stun gun and cannabis were found in her vehicle during a traffic stop on Main at Main Cross Street in Carmi Wednesday night.

According to Carmi Police, around 9:45 p.m., an officer got a 911 call regarding a silver car, driven by 37-year-old Myceisha M. Hunter, being tailgated down Main Street.

Police saw Hunter honking and saw a truck, driven by 57-year-old Bryan D. Cox of Norris City, following Hunter too closely. Cox was stopped and cited for no insurance and following too closely. Police also learned Hunter had a suspended driver’s license out of Indiana.

Police noticed the smell of raw cannabis coming from her car and began a probable cause search. Cannabis and a stun gun were found.

Hunter was charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and Driving While License Suspended. She was detained and booked into the White County Jail.
