AVA – A Murphysboro man escaped injury after being involved in a one vehicle crash in Jackson County Sunday night.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, around 8:45 p.m., 30-year-old Levi Gaetz was driving south on Illinois 4 near Tanner Road in rural Ava when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road. His vehicle struck a utility pole causing it to overturn and sustain significant damage. It was towed from the scene. Gaetz was not hurt.
Ameren was contacted to replace the damaged pole.
