Metropolis Man Faces Drug, Gun Charges after Foot Pursuit

METROPOLIS – A Metropolis man was arrested Friday on drug and gun charges and on a warrant from McCracken County for possessing meth after leading Metropolis Police on a foot chase on Girard Street.

Police say 39-year-old Terrell B. Deen was charged with the McCracken County warrant along with Possession of Methamphetamine, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm as a Convicted Felon. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Police saw Deen on Girard Street and knew he was wanted in McCracken County. As an officer approached, Deen fled leading to a pursuit that ended with him being tased. Deen is known to carry a gun and was carrying a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol in his waistband when he was taken into custody. He was also found with a large amount of meth and drug paraphernalia.
