Couple Nabbed in Stolen Camper Bust with Meth, Guns, Face Several Charges

BENTON – Two people are facing multiple charges following the recovery of a stolen camper Tuesday in a rural area north of Benton.

Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says the camper was stolen Saturday. When deputies found it, 46-year-old Mark S. Hefner and 39-year-old Kimberly D. Hefner were inside. They were arrested.

Mark Hefner was charged with Theft over $10,000, Unlawful Defacing of a Manufactures Identification Number, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution, Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Needle, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID – Revoked and Criminal Damage to Property.

Kimberly Hefner was charged with Theft over $10,000, Unlawful Defacing of a Manufacturers Identification Number, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution, Unlawful Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Possession of Firearm/Ammunition without a FOID and Criminal Damage to Property.

A significant amount of meth and a firearm were seized. They were taken to the Franklin County Jail.
