Carbondale Man Threatens Driver with Gun, Arrested after Foot Pursuit

CARBONDALE – A man was arrested on gun-related charges in Carbondale Monday night after showing a gun while arguing with a driver and leading police on a short foot pursuit.

Carbondale Police say this happened just before 7 p.m. in the 400 block of East Ashley Street. The driver told police he was threatened by a group of males with guns.

One of the suspects, 18-year-old Kashaad D. Johnson of Carbondale, was caught after the foot pursuit and police recovered his gun.

Police later went to a home where Johnson and the other unidentified suspects entered. The other suspects were not there, but police recovered a large amount of ammo.

Officers arrested Johnson for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Firearms and Firearms Ammunition, and Resisting a Peace Officer.

Johnson was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
