Benton City Council Postpones Discussion on Conflict of Interest Ordinance

BENTON – The Benton City Council tabled the Conflict of Interest ordinance at Monday’s meeting.

Finance Commissioner Christopher Kays apologized to the council for not having it ready due to preparing the city budget for approval. That’s set to happen at the next City Council meeting on April 28.

Kays fully expects to bring the ordinance to the council for approval on the 28 because there will probably be minimal changes to the budget.

The budget hearing is set for 4:15 p.m. at City Hall inside the Campbell Building with the City Council meeting to follow at 5 p.m.
