MT. VERNON – The Walmart Corporation has awarded the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office with a grant for $784 that will be used for improving the safety of their deputies, corrections officers, and the public by updating their firearm storage lockers.
Officials say the purchase of firearm lockers will increase safety and security, reduce risk, and will help maintain compliance and operational efficiency in the office.
The grant is part of the Spark Good Local Grant Program, which focuses on impact and connecting to their purpose of helping people live better.
