MURPHYSBORO – IDOT says Illinois 13 eastbound from 5th Street to Watson Road and Illinois 127 northbound from Old Illinois 13 to Pomona Road in Murphysboro will be closed, weather permitting, starting Sunday at 7 a.m. to accommodate an oversize/overweight load.
Illinois 13 westbound and Illinois 127 southbound will not be closed, but motorists utilizing these routes should be prepared for long delays.
The road closures and escorts needed for the move will be handled by IDOT and Illinois State Police.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changing conditions, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
