Man Arrested in Johnston City on Felony Warrant for Burglary

JOHNSTON CITY –  Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man wanted for burglary Saturday.

According to the sheriff’s office, just after midnight, deputies responded to the 1700 block of Follis Avenue in Johnston City acting on information that Caleb R. Grant was at the home. Grant was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for burglary.

Grant is known by deputies to have an extensive history of resisting and fleeing from law enforcement.

Deputies walking past a window of the home saw Grant standing in the living room.

Additional deputies responded and set up a perimeter around the home.

While waiting for additional deputies, a woman, known by deputies from previous law enforcement contact as Kierston C. Tolbert, walked out the front door of the home.

Deputies told Tolbert they saw Grant in the home, had an active arrest warrant for him, and to tell him to come out now. Tolbert responded with expletives and went back inside the home. Additional deputies arrived on scene.

Tolbert once again walked out of the front of the home, and as deputies attempted to apprehend Grant, she obstructed their pursuit of him and became physical with deputies. Tolbert was taken into custody.

Deputies made contact with another man in the home who said Grant was in the bedroom.

Grant was located hiding in a closet and he resisted deputies efforts to take him into custody.

After a brief struggle Grant was arrested and handcuffed.

Grant was cited for Resisting/Obstructing A Peace Officer and on the original felony warrant for Burglary.

Tolbert was cited for Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer and Resisting/Obstructing A Peace Officer.

Grant and Tolbert were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
