EDMOND, OK – Neva Lottie Finch, 103, of Edmond, OK, formerly of North Fort Myers, FL, and McLeansboro, IL, passed away on August 19, 2024.
Neva was born January, 21, 1921, in Caneyville, KY, to Charles and Katie (Woosley) Hudson. She married Clyde LeRoy “Butch” Finch on December 23, 1943, in Henderson, KY, who preceded her in death on August 10, 2009.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, one son, Richard; and one grandson, Aaron Karcher.
Neva is survived by a son, Clyde Finch and wife Brenda of Edmond, OK; three daughters, Brenda Ledford and husband Irvin of Palm Coast, Florida, Karen Karcher and husband Mike of Dahlgren, Illinois, and Kathy Parsons and husband Phil of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Neva is survived by grandchildren, Brandon Finch, Barrett Finch, Brian Ledford, Patrick Karcher, Kelly Hewitt Sandy, Kyle Hewitt, Lisa Finch Neimeyer, Christin Parsons Smith, Phillip W. Parsons II; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Neva was a homemaker and loved cooking for her family. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling and took several trips abroad. They wintered in North Fort Myers, FL, for many years, and Neva later made this her permanent home. She celebrated her 100th birthday there. Recently, she has been a resident at Tealridge Assisted Living near her son, Clyde, in Edmond, OK.
Neva was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church in McLeansboro, IL. She was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, enjoyed stitching quilt tops, and socializing with her many friends while living in Florida. She will be missed by many family members and friends.
Neva’s service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL, at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation will run from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
