The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old Christopher M. Redman is charged  with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm with an expired FOID card. Sixty-eight-year-old David P. Spotanski is charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Both men were taken to the Jefferson County Jail.

Just before 8 p.m., deputies along with Mt. Vernon Police officers responded to the scene and tried to contact the residents inside the home. After a few minutes, deputies were able  to get a resident, identified as Redman, to come out. Redman did that and was taken into custody without incident. It was determined at that time there was no one else inside the home

Deputies were able to secure the home and spoke with Redman and several witnesses. They determined another person was involved in the disturbance and went to 316 N. Hirons St. Deputies spoke with Spotanski at that location and took him into custody without incident.
