MCLEANSBORO – The McLeansboro Police Department welcomed a new officer to the force Friday – K9 Polo.
According to the police department, Polo will be Sgt. Mathew Bryson’s companion. They completed 10 weeks of training at the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield.
Police say they were able to get Polo after receiving donations from the community.
Planning, academy selection, dog selection, outfitting a vehicle and training also played a role in getting a new K9 officer.
Police thank the community for their help in getting Polo.
