JOHNSTON CITY – Three juveniles were arrested after leading law enforcement on a foot pursuit after noticing a stolen vehicle they were in near Casey’s in Johnston City just after 8:30 Thursday morning.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped the vehicle in the parking lot at Casey’s. The vehicle tried to flee as law enforcement surrounded it. The driver then jumped from the vehicle, prior to it coming to a complete stop, and it struck a parked vehicle. Three male suspects fled on foot.
Deputies pursued and caught two of the suspects using a non-lethal taser. A Johnston City Police officer caught the third suspect without incident.
The vehicle was stolen out of Schaumburg, Illinois. The suspects were later identified as two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old.
A search of the vehicle discovered a large amount of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, packaging materials, and THC vapes.
The suspects were taken to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and cited for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. Additionally, the driver was cited for Criminal Damage to Property.
