Johnson County Man Dies in Southeast Missouri Crash Thursday

CHARLESTON, MO – A Johnson County man died, and two others were seriously injured in an early Thursday morning crash in southeast Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 5 a.m. on U.S. 62 about six miles east of Charleston.

A pickup truck, driven by a 32-year-old man from Clinton, KY, was going west when he crossed the center line and hit a car going east head-on driven by a 39-year-old man from Vienna. The Vienna man died, and the pickup driver was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious injuries.

The Vienna man’s passenger, a 27-year-old man from East Prairie, MO, was flown to an Evansville, IN, hospital with serious injuries.

No names were released.
