BONNIE – Two separate traffic crashes happened within minutes of each other Sunday afternoon on southbound I-57 in Bonnie.
According to Illinois State Police, troopers were assisting a stalled semi on southbound I-57 at milepost 89. While on scene, the two crashes happened. The stalled semi was not reported to be involved in the crashes.
The first crash happened north of Bonnie at 12:18 p.m. when a semi and a car collided. A partial lane blockage was reported. No one was injured. There is no additional information at this time.
Then the second crash happened at 12:35 p.m. north of Bonnie when a semi ran off the interstate. A partial lane blockage was reported. The semi driver was taken to an area hospital with injuries. There is no additional information at this time.
