MCLEANSBORO – Eva Lorene Dial, age 95, a former resident of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Axiom Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Lorene was born April 12, 1929, in Flannigan Township. She married William Henry “Jill” Dial on December 25, 1946, in Braden Valley Church. Jill passed away October 24, 2015.
Lorene was a daughter of James Roy Smith and Eva Fay (Broyles) Smith.
She was a retired seamstress of Elder Manufacturing Company, Lare Enterprise, McLeansboro, IL.
Lorene was a member of the First General Baptist Church and she loved to travel along with attending church activities. She enjoyed being with friends and family.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Betty Smith of Columbia, MO. Lorene was like a mother to Pamela Lorene (Graddy) Faulkenberg, Tammy (Graddy) Davis and Brent Graddy. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, brother, Harold Roy Smith and wife Helen and Thelma and Roger Graddy.
Visitation for Lorene Dial will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL. The speaker will be Bob Brockett. Burial will follow at Braden Valley Cemetery in McLeansboro, IL.
