MARION – A man has been arrested in connection with a Sunday morning crash near the intersection of Lake of Egypt Road and Power Plant Road in Williamson County.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Walter G. Bauer confessed to driving the vehicle through the fence at the Lake of Egypt Power Plant.
Bauer has been charged with Driving While License Revoked and Disorderly Conduct for filing a false stolen vehicle report.
The sheriff’s office says the vehicle was reported stolen from the Eagle Point Bay Area in Johnson County. It was later recovered by Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were able to determine that the vehicle had not been stolen as originally reported.
