MURPHYSBORO – The Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association recently announced that its been awarded $530,000 from the Illinois EPA to install DC fast chargers the Southern Illinois Airport in Murphysboro, SIU’s Transportation Education Center and at the Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center.
Funding for the chargers was made possible through the “Driving a Cleaner Illinois” grant program as part of Illinois’ larger initiative to expand electric vehicle infrastructure to add 1,500 new charging ports statewide.
Updates will be released as to when these chargers will go online.
