CARBONDALE/MARION – A Marion man wanted for Criminal Damage to Property in Williamson County has been captured.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says multiple reports were received from the public saying 48-year-old Eric W. Travelstead was spotted at the Carbondale Walmart. They recognized him from a recent Warrant Wednesday Facebook post from the sheriff’s office. Tips about Travelstead were also received including pictures of the vehicle he arrived in from the “Submit A Tip” feature on the sheriff’s office app.
Deputies responded in unmarked vehicles, located the suspect vehicle and followed it back to Williamson County.
A female driver drove the vehicle to Marion and parked it in Maplewood Cemetery. No one else could be seen in the vehicle. Deputies continued surveillance efforts.
After a few minutes, Travelstead got out of the vehicle and deputies took him into custody without further incident.
