CARBONDALE – A missing/runaway girl recently reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has been found.
The sheriff’s office says 15-year-old Alexus Perez was found Tuesday at a home in Benton. She was taken back to Jackson County and is back home.
Alexus left her home on South Illinois Avenue in Carbondale that same day possibly on foot at the time she ran away. It was believed she was traveling to Carterville or the Rockford, Illinois area.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Carbondale and Benton police departments and the Carbondale Police Department School Resource Officers.
