Three Arrested after Meth, Drug Paraphernalia Found at West Frankfort Traffic Stop

WEST FRANKFORT – Three people were arrested on drug charges after a recent traffic stop in West Frankfort.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon, 45-year-old Nicole D. Keen of Marion was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine 15-100 grams, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Fifty-six-year-old Randy L. Carter of Benton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Thirty-nine-year-old Dustin R. Eckles of Bluford was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine.

All three were taken to the Franklin County Jail.

During the booking process, and at the time of the intake body scan, correctional officers believed that Nicole Keen was concealing items within a body cavity. Those items were soon extracted by medical personnel which rendered additional charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance – suspected Fentanyl and Bringing/Possessing Contraband within a Penal Institution.

West Frankfort Police stopped the vehicle and a sheriff’s office K9 was brought in for a free air sniff of the vehicle. The K9 made a positive alert and police conducted a probable cause search that yielded methamphetamine, packaging material, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Keen, Carter and Eckles were then arrested, charged and taken to jail.
