CARMI – Four people were recently arrested in unrelated incidents according to Carmi Police.
A Carmi man, 41-year-old Gregory Lee Burchfield, was arrested at the White County Probation Office Wednesday afternoon for Defrauding a Drug Screening after officials discovered a device with urine on his person. Burchfield was taken to the White County Jail. He was released Friday and will appear in White County Court for a preliminary hearing on March 26.
A Norris City man, 40-year-old William Kyle Garrison, was arrested by Carmi Police Friday night for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Delivery of Alcohol to Minor Under 21 Years Old and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle by Driver on Stewart Street at the railroad tracks in Carmi. Garrison was taken to the White County Jail. He was released Sunday afternoon.
A juvenile with Garrison was also arrested for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol of a Minor and released on Notice to Appear citations. Another male was taken to the hospital for injuries from a fight that happened prior to the attempt of a motorist assist. Future charges are expected for him according to police.
An Albion man was arrested on drug-related charges after being stopped by Carmi Police for lane violations on Main Street at the airport Saturday night. Fifty-four-year-old Terry R. Lee was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Use of Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl and Hydrocodone) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also issued a written warning for improper lane usage. He is being held in the White County Jail. Online court records showed he made his first appearance in White County Court Monday. A preliminary hearing is set for April 14.
An Omaha woman, 35-year-old Amanda D. Pettyjohn, was arrested and cited for Driving with No Valid Driver’s License, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Registration is Suspended for Mandatory Insurance Violation after she was stopped by Carmi Police on 5th and Oak Street Sunday night. She was released on a Notice to Appear on the citations and will make her first appearance in White County Court April 29.
