ZEIGLER – A student at Zeigler-Royalton Grade School is recovering following a medical emergency Monday morning.
According to Zeigler Police, emergency personnel responded to the school around 11:35 a.m., and thanks to the quick thinking and acting staff at the school, the student was auto-defibrillated and further stabilized by paramedics before being airlifted to St. Louis.
Christopher Police, Zeigler Fire, Royalton Fire, AMR Medical Response and Abbott EMS assisted Zeigler Police and the school staff at the scene.
