CARTERVILLE – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has set up several public open houses around the state for waterfowl hunters to contribute feedback on issues related to waterfowl hunting, including waterfowl hunting zones and future waterfowl season dates.
One of these events will be held on Wednesday, May 21, in Building F, Room 104 at John A. Logan College in Carterville. It will run from 5:30 to 8 pm. with a formal presentation at 6 p.m.
Input gathered from the public will be used to inform dates for the 2026 through 2030 waterfowl hunting seasons. Hunters will have the opportunity to review information, provide comments on proposed waterfowl season recommendations, and speak with IDNR biologists.
