Mt. Vernon Man Arrested on Multiple Drug-related Offenses

MT. VERNON – A 46-year-old Mt. Vernon man is in the Jefferson County Jail following his arrest early Wednesday morning on multiple drug-related offenses.
Zachary Mark Buchman was arrested just after 6:30 a.m. when members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team served a knock and announce search warrant at his apartment on South Sixth Street in Mt. Vernon.
The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation by members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department/Mt. Vernon Police Department Narcotics Unit.
During the course of the investigation, detectives reportedly purchased methamphetamine from Buchman.
On Wednesday, members of the High-Risk Team were able to secure the apartment and take Buchman into custody without incident.
A subsequent search of the apartment reportedly resulted in detectives not only locating meth, but also controlled substances, and drug equipment.
Buchman was transported to the Jefferson County Jail on charges of Aggravated Delivery of between 5-15 grams of meth, Delivery of less than 5 grams of meth, Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Equipment.
Bond for Buchman remains to be set.
