MARION – More of our area veterans took off Tuesday morning from Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois in Marion to go to Washington, D.C. as part of Veterans Honor Flight 11.
And as always you’re invited to attend the Veterans Honor Flight Welcome Home Ceremony at the airport Tuesday night.
There will be eight food trucks on site. The Kids Zone will have inflatables.
Entertainment will start at 6 p.m. The Daniel Brothers will perform from 6 to 6:45 p.m. with Whiskey & Rust performing from 7 to 8:45 p.m.
The Welcome Home Ceremony begins at 8:45 p.m. You’re asked to bring your lawn chairs and your patriotic signs to welcome our veterans home.
Since airport parking is limited, you can park your vehicle and catch a shuttle bus that will leave every 20 minutes from the Cornerstone Church parking lot on Walton Way in Marion starting at 5 p.m.
