MULKEYTOWN – A Carbondale man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening on Illinois 14 at Tyrone Road in Mulkeytown.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old John Eck was riding a 2024 Suzuki 8R motorcycle west on Illinois 14 when it left the roadway. The motorcycle struck a culvert and ejected Eck off the bike.
Eck was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for his injuries.
The sheriff’s office says no citations have been issued at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Illinois State Police, the Christopher Fire Department, AMR Ambulance and Air Evac.
